Monica's Bio

Monica was born Monica Denise Arnold in Riverdale, Ga., and raised in Atlanta. She grew up singing in church, and at the age of 10 had joined a traveling Gospel choir. Shortly after that, she was discovered by Atlanta-based music producer Dallas Austin and signed to his Rowdy Records label.

With her 1995 debut album, Miss Thang, critics and fans alike knew that Monica had the makings of a superstar. She quickly became the youngest female artist ever to have two back-to-back #1 hits on Billboard’s R&B singles chart with “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days)” and “Before You Walk Out of My Life.” Both songs topped the Hot 100 chart and sold one million copies each.

In 1998, The Boy Is Mine was released and delivered three consecutive #1 Billboard pop singles (the title track, “Angel of Mine” and “First Night”). Even more impressive, the album’s title track with Brandy spent 13 weeks at #1 on the pop charts, and eight weeks at #1 on the R&B listing. Additionally, the duet earned Monica a Grammy to add to her American Music, Soul Train and Billboard Awards.

Following The Boy Is Mine, Monica released After the Storm in 2003. The album went on to sell more than a million copies. In 2006, the talented singer and actress, who has sold more than 12 million copies to date, showed what she was really made of with a poignant return on her fourth album The Makings of Me, which spawned the Jermaine Dupri hit single “Everytime Tha Beat Drop” and “A Dozen Roses,” produced by Missy Elliott.

Bryan-Michael Cox's Bio

Bryan-Michael Cox began his career as an intern at Noontime Records in Atlanta and went on to co-produce as Jermaine Dupri’s wing man before becoming one of the biggest producing talents in the industry. He has landed 19 number one hits, four Grammys and six consecutive SESAC Songwriter of the Year Award.

While at the High School for the Performing Arts, Cox literally had a date with destiny when he met a freshman during his senior year named Beyoncé Knowles. He produced his first demo tape with her and later went on to produce a track on Destiny Child’s Destiny Fulfilled album.

After high school, Cox attended Clark Atlanta University, which put him in close proximity to Atlanta’s LaFace Records and its extraordinary roster of talent. The close affiliation that the Noontime execs had with major players on the Atlanta scene would open the door for the young producer to begin with remixes and ultimately secure placements for his music tracks. He would soon work with such stars as Toni Braxton, TLC, Usher and Outkast.

Over the past ten years, Cox has churned out dozens of productions, including explosive hits like Mariah Carey’s “Shake It Off” and “Don’t Forget About Us” and youthful ballads like Chris Brown’s “Say Goodbye.” His creative output reached new heights this year with simultaneous releases by Usher, Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, Day 26 and Danity Kane. He is also serving as executive producer on his unscripted television series Studio Exposed, a comedic peek into the music producer’s world amidst a cast of characters whose personal and private lives are centered in the music studio.
