LaVan Davis

LaVan Davis is no stranger to theatergoers who have seen one of his many acclaimed African-American stage plays on tour over the past few years. He was one of the featured singers in Mickey Stevenson’s touring stage production of The Gospel Truth and made audiences sit up and take notice with his memorable performance as Crazy Joe in the touring production of De Obeah Mon. His other stage credits include his dual roles as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and The Buffalo Soldier in Maurice Kitchen’s acclaimed Voices and as the father in the long-running production of Why Good Girls Like Bad Boys.

In the field of music, Davis has amassed a number of outstanding credits. He was a member of the original Ricky Grundy Chorale and was the featured lead singer on the group’s recording of "Lead Me On." He was also a member of the L.A. Mass Choir and appeared on the television airing of the Stellar Awards, in which he led the song "Be Encouraged." Davis is currently studying opera.
