Pelvic floor therapy has become increasingly popular on TikTok - does it make sense for you?

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Nearly a quarter of women in the United States are affected by one or more pelvic floor disorders, according to the National Institutes of Health.

The disorders can lead to difficulty tolerating pelvic examinations, pain during and after pregnancy, discomfort with sexual intimacy, constipation, incontinence, and a variety of other issues that many women assume are normal.

To help combat these issues Dr. Marcy Crouch, also known as @thedowntheredoc breaks down what a pelvic floor physical therapy appointment looks like.

Dr. Marcy has taught pregnancy and sexual health courses for physical therapists both nationally and internationally.

Marcy is a mother, she owns her own clinic, built a following on social media as @thedowntheredoc, has spoken at national events, contributed to popular blogs and magazines, and is having empowering conversations about women’s health.
