ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - An Atlanta woman is on a mission to empower women with hair loss and help them embrace their beauty.
Veteran hairstylist Felicia Flores has had Alopecia areata since 2009. The condition, which causes partial or complete absence of hair in areas where it normally grows, affects as many as 6.7 million Americans.
Today, Flores is building a movement to inspire courage and amplify the voices of bald women around the world.
Her event, Baldie Con, is taking place at Atlanta’s Hotel Colee on Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.
Flores stopped by Atlanta News First to talk about redefining beauty standards for women dealing with hair loss and what fans can expect from this year’s convention.
