“Frankenstein: The Movie Opera” makes East Coast debut in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The 1931 film “Frankenstein” was originally released without music. But “Frankenstein: The Movie Opera” fills that gap.

Michael Shapiro, the show’s composer and conductor, came to Atlanta News First to discuss the unique performance. The Atlanta Opera orchestra, including singers, performs live as the film is projected on a screen. The show is coming to eight locations worldwide, but Atlanta is the only show Shapiro will conduct in person.

The event is on Saturday, Sept. 28. Click here to buy tickets.
