TV star named face of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Millennium Medical Group

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - There are some frightening and concerning statistics for expecting moms, particularly Black women.

According to the CDC, Black women have the highest maternal mortality rate in the United States.

In 2021, the maternal mortality rate for Black women was 69.9 deaths per 100,000 live births. For white women, it was 26.6 deaths per 100,000 live births.

And when it comes to babies, the United States has a concerningly high infant mortality rate.

In 2020, the CDC reported 5.4 deaths per 1,000 live births.
