ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - In Georgia, an estimated 150,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s disease — and about 343,000 are caring for them, according to the Alzheimer’s Impact Movement.
For that reason and more, the Atlanta-based nonprofit Daughters Against Alzheimer’s is hosting its 7th annual “Battle for the Brain” on Thursday. Organizers hope the event will raise $1.5 million for Emory University’s Goizueta Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.
Susan Watson, the nonprofit’s co-founder, came to Atlanta News First to talk about the event. This year’s lip-sync teams include Delta Air Lines, the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, Dorsey Alston Realtors, Fitness Influencers ATL and more!
“Battle for the Brain” is on Feb. 1 at The Battery’s Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre at 7:30 p.m. You can see more details and buy tickets here.
