ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Volleyball’s popularity is surging in the United States — but despite the boost, boys volleyball still isn’t a varsity sport in Georgia and its coaches can’t be paid.

Garrett Bitter, who is Kennesaw State University’s assistant volleyball coach and serves on the Southern Region Volleyball Association’s board of directors, came to Atlanta News First to talk about the issue. The association is offering $30,000 in grants to help Georgia high schools start club volleyball teams for boys.
