ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Most people know Nathan Deal as Georgia’s former governor. But he’s now also the author of a brand-new children’s book!
Deal came to Atlanta News First to talk about “Veto, the Governor’s Cat.” He said he wrote the book in honor of his late wife, Sandra Deal, who was a teacher passionate about childhood literacy. Part of the book’s proceeds will go toward The Deal Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to criminal justice reform and bolstering education.
“Veto, the Governor’s Cat” follows two rescue cats, Bill and Veto, who live in the Georgia Governor’s Mansion and go on adventures that highlight empathy and compassion. They’re based on the former governor’s real pets!
The book came out on Wednesday. Click here to learn more about it.
