Atlanta Braves acquire 34-acre office building complex near The Battery The company that owns the Atlanta Braves announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a six-building office complex near The Battery in Cobb County.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The company that owns the Atlanta Braves announced on Wednesday that it has acquired a six-building office complex near The Battery in Cobb County.

Atlanta Braves Holdings said the new 34-acre property, Pennant Park, sits at the intersection of I-75 and I-285 and has more than 760,000 square feet of office space.

“I’m excited to see what they will do with it. For the most part, the stuff that the Braves have added in the area, like The Battery itself, has been walkable and really fun to go to,” Braves fan Benson Todd said.

The facility also comes with 2,700 parking spaces, which can be used to better accommodate The Battery’s nine million annual visitors, according to Mike Plant, president and CEO of Braves Development Company.

“This represents a strategic step in the growth of our real estate portfolio and creates a significant opportunity for Atlanta Braves Holdings to enhance the tenant experience while investing in the future of our growing community at The Battery Atlanta,” Plant said in a statement.

More than 80% full, Pennant Park currently has 242 tenants. It’s made up of two sections on 17-acre sites - Pennant Commons, which is four buildings around a communal plaza, and Pennant View, the remaining two office buildings.

The Home Depot, also Atlanta-based, leases out two buildings in Pennant Commons.

Pennant Park also has several amenities, including but not limited to a conference center, two fitness centers, car detailing services, two cafes, a bocce ball court and multi-sport court, a putting green and a lake with a jogging trail.

“I think it will be excellent because for most of our fans it would be additional parking, close parking and very accessible to get in and out of the interstate,” Braves fan Phyllis Davis said.

The news comes just two days before the Braves’ home opener, where the team will play the Marlins at Truist Park on Friday.
