ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fashion extravaganza is back!

The 2025 Met Gala is Monday night, as the star-studded fundraising event celebrates the opening of the costume institute’s spring exhibition.

This year’s theme, “Super Fine: Tailoring Black Style,” will highlight and pay homage to “dandyism” and the evolution of Black menswear.

Dr. Courtney Hammonds, who wrote about dandyism titled “The Dandy Affair: Men Who Are Unapologetically Woven into the Fabric of Life,” sat down with Atlanta News First to give a background on the theme and what it’s meant to evoke culturally and stylistically.

Along with Hammonds are models who will give you a sneak peek of dandyism looks that viewers could expect to see on the Met Gala carpet.

Atlanta News First will have a full review of the 2025 Met Gala on Tuesday.
