ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Nearly 1 million people in the United States are living with Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement. Currently, there is no cure — but researchers are working hard to find one.
Amy Johnson with the American Parkinson’s Disease Association and Karen Moss, who recently lost her husband to Parkinson’s, came to Atlanta News First to discuss the Georgia Optimism Walk. The event raises money for Parkinson’s research and programs to help people with Parkinson’s live fulfilling lives.
The Georgia Optimism Walk is on Saturday at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody. Atlanta News First’s Gurvir Dhindsa will act as emcee!
