ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Live music, free samba dance lessons, cultural performances and amazing costumes.
That is just some of what you will get at the Brazilian Carnaval Party in Decatur this weekend!
Deyotta Snipe is one of the coordinators of the event, and Dani Da Silva is the director of Capoeira Maculelê Decatur. The two sat down with Atlanta News First to talk about the free event.
The event is not only a celebration of Brazil’s vibrant music and dance, but it’s also a fundraiser to help support their local Georgia nonprofit youth programs, which serve thousands of children every year.
Through capoeira, Portuguese language, cultural arts and more - Capoeira Maculelê offers free classes, school seminars and live performances that inspire and empower the youth.
The Brazilian Carnaval Party will take place Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. on Sycamore Street. To find out more about the event, click here.
