UPDATE: Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens will be at the parade to kick off the event on Saturday. Organizers said Keisha Lance Bottoms, who is running for governor, will be the grand marshal.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A celebration of freedom and resilience will be front and center this weekend for the annual Juneteenth Parade and Festival.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens sat down with Atlanta News First to talk about the importance of celebrating Black pride and remembering the full history of emancipation.
