A look at the 2025 MLB All-Star Week uniforms players will wear

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Major League Baseball is bringing back an old tradition when All-Star Week comes to Atlanta.

The league unveiled new All-Star uniforms back in June, but they won’t be worn during the actual game.

MLB announced last year that players would once again wear their primary home or away uniforms during the game, according to ESPN. This is a tradition that started in the 1930s and continued until 2019.

All-Star uniforms will be worn, however, for the 2025 Home Run Derby - which are inspired by pro baseball legends Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron. Ruth hit his 714th home run with the then Boston Braves, and almost 40 years later, Aaron broke Ruth’s record with his 715th home run in Atlanta.

National League players in the derby will wear No. 44, while American League players wear will don No. 3 - tributes to both Aaron and Ruth, respectively. During Workout Day, players will wear T-shirts that will replicate the jersey designs with No. 44 and No. 3 on the backs, along with their own last name.

This year’s uniforms will have “AL” or “NL” on the left chest of the jerseys, with a red trim following down the jersey and on the sleeve.

The National League has a lighter shade of blue as “the designated home team,” and the American League unis will be a darker blue. An “ATL 2025″ jock tag will also be included with three main colors.

Each uniform for All-Star Week will have a sleeve patch to honor the game, according to ESPN.

All-Star caps designed by New Era were also unveiled in June, as Home Run Derby participants are set to wear either a darker blue or lighter blue shade that will have a main star behind the team’s logo and two white stars scattered just above. The sleeve patch logo will also be on the side of the cap.

A similar design will be used for the All-Star Game caps, but no star will be behind the logo, as the colors will be associated with the participating player’s team.
