ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Former Braves manager and Baseball Hall of Famer Bobby Cox was in attendance Friday when the team recognized the 30th anniversary of the 1995 World Series ahead of Atlanta’s series opener against the New York Mets.
After speculation over whether the 84-year-old Cox would be able to attend, manager Brian Snitker confirmed it before the game.

Cox suffered a stroke six years ago, which has limited his ability to attend marquee events such as the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park.
Snitker got the news on Thursday.
“I talked to him yesterday, and it’s something that he’s really looking forward to,” Snitker said. “I know it’s something he wanted to do, and he’s excited to do it.”
More than 30 alumni were in attendance, including the “Big Three” Hall of Fame starting pitchers, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz. The 1995 team paraded through The Battery Atlanta before the game.
