ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Mayor’s 5K on the 5th runway returns Saturday, inviting walkers and runners of all ages to race on metro Atlanta’s flattest and fastest course.
The 11th annual run on the tarmac of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is hosted by Mayor Andre Dickens, with proceeds benefitting the Mayor’s Youth Scholarship Program and United Way of Greater Atlanta.
ATL Airport Director of Sustainability, Dr. Quinta Warren, and CHARM Executive Director Peggy Whitlow Ratcliffe joined Atlanta News First to talk about how the mission behind the rafe has expanded over the years.
The race kicks off at 6:30 a.m. and lasts through 7:30 a.m. Atlanta News First will stream live on ANF+.
The event is sold out, but donations are still being accepted here. Registration for the general race categories is currently closed.
