ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - 2025 marks 20 years since Hurricane Katrina made landfall and devastated New Orleans, parts of Mississippi and the Gulf Coast. And now, a new documentary tells the story of one of the many families that endured days of trauma in the wake of the storm.
Journalist and filmmaker Yasmeen Blake came to Atlanta News First to talk about “Together in the Eye: 20 Years Later.” The film follows her family, who survived Hurricane Katrina and had to navigate losing their home.
“Together in the Eye: 20 Years Later” is screening on Saturday, Oct. 4, during Blake Edwards’ Before Heartbreak Art Exhibition.
