ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Braves fans will have to wait one day longer for the 2026 home slate.
The team announced Monday that the Opening Day game against the Kansas City Royals will now take place Friday, March 27. It was originally scheduled for Thursday, March 26.
The game is set to start at 7:15 p.m.
The move takes away an off day between the first and second games of the opening series and gives the Braves six home games to open the 2026 season.
The 2026 Braves will have a slightly new look after a disappointing 2025 campaign. Brian Snitker stepped down as manager after the season ended and was replaced by his bench coach, Walt Weiss.
The team inked Robert Suarez to a three-year, $45 million deal to bolster the bullpen behind returning closer Raisel Iglesias and signed Mike Yastrzemski to a two-year, $23 million contract to add depth to an outfield that took its fair share of hits in 2025.
