ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Making a life-changing move is never easy — but for actress, producer and director Cecelia Specht, the risk is already paying off.
The California native has uprooted her life and relocated to Smyrna to pursue greater opportunities in the entertainment industry. That leap of faith has led to a major milestone: Specht has landed a 20-episode role as Dr. Lia Whitmore on the new daytime drama “Beyond the Gates.”
Specht says the journey hasn’t been a straight path. She came to Atlanta News First to talk about what inspired her to take the risk of moving, how she navigated her career transition and what it feels like to see that leap begin to pay off.
“Beyond the Gates” airs weekdays at 2 p.m. on CBS and is filmed in Doraville at Assembly Studios, which is owned by Atlanta News First’s parent company, Gray Media.
