ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Braves pitcher Grant Holmes is set to make his fourth spring training appearance as the Braves take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in Bradenton, Florida.
Holmes is projected to be the Braves’ fourth starter to begin the 2026 season. He’s held opponents scoreless through three games in spring training.
The Braves will bring out a lineup filled with players on the major league roster bubble as the team begins making cuts. Fifty players remain in Braves camp, meaning the team will cut 24 players to lock down the Opening Day roster. With just over two weeks remaining until the Braves’ home opener, Thursday’s game could be the last chance for some players to make an impression.
Pitching prospect Bubba Chandler will take the mound for the Pirates. The Lawrenceville native was drafted by the Pirates in the third round of the 2021 draft. He is set to make the Pirates’ Opening Day roster as their No. 3 starter after a brief stint in the majors in 2025.
