Braves’ Bryce Elder takes mound vs. Red Sox | Live on Gray Media

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Atlanta Braves take on the Boston Red Sox on Saturday at CoolToday Park.

The matchup is one of several Braves spring training games that will be broadcast live on Gray Media this season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

Right-hander Bryce Elder is slated to start for Atlanta. Elder is coming off a rough outing against the Tampa Bay Rays in which he allowed five runs on six hits over 3.1 innings.

Despite the struggles, Elder remains the favorite to claim the Braves’ fifth and final spot in the starting rotation. His primary competition, left-hander Joey Wentz, was ruled out for the entire 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL.

Boston will counter with right-hander Brayan Bello. Bello has also struggled early this spring, allowing nine runs across two starts totaling 3.1 innings. The 26-year-old is coming off a strong 2025 campaign in which he posted a 3.35 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP across 166.2 innings.

Forty-five players remain in Braves camp as the team continues to trim its roster to 26 ahead of Opening Day on March 27, when Atlanta hosts the Kansas City Royals at Truist Park.
