ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Atlanta Braves have some new merch for fans to wear to games and to sport around town: 2026 City Connect uniforms.
It’s a return of the iconic powder blue uniforms sported by the team back in the 1980s.
The team threw a fan-friendly bash Thursday to celebrate the launch of its 2026 City Connect uniforms. Hudson Walker and his dad, Josh, were the first in line at 8:30 a.m.
“Well, we weren’t expecting to be the first in line, but there was no traffic because it’s spring break,” Josh said.

The two walked out of the store sporting the first of the new team jerseys that the players will debut during Friday’s game.
Vice President Creative Director Insung Kim said it’s all part of the MLB’s City Connect series that aims to reflect the team’s history and community pride, including the Braves’ time on the TBS Superstation in the 80’s.
“We wanted City Connect 2.0 for this year to be a celebration of that. That’s why we’re looking at the powder blue, because that was the heyday of when the Braves were on TV, and we thought, ‘You know what, this is the perfect time to tell that story,’” he said.
What’s in store?
There were ample opportunities to delve into Braves history, including a chance to recreate Dale Murphy’s famous Power Alley photo.
Fans got the chance to take photos inside the new BravesVision set as well as enjoy the UniverSoul Circus and performances by the Heavy Hitters, Tomahawk Team and Blooper.

Rob Leventhal was in the front of the line with his son, Tobias. He said he remembers watching the Braves on TBS, so he was eager to get his hands on the throwback merch.
“It’s exciting to see the new uniforms. It’s old school Dale Murphy,” he said.
Tobias said now, he loves the team as much as his dad.
“I’m very excited. I woke him up, got him out of bed, drove him down here, bought him breakfast,” Tobias said.
Rob said he’s enjoying watching this new generation of players just as much.
“Some of the younger guys coming up, you know, they look like they’re having fun like they’re in Little League,” he said. “You see them in the dugout high fiving, chest bumping, just being really excited.”
