What to know as Savannah Bananas visit Truist Park

Savannah Bananas return to Truist Park Fun that's guaranteed to leave you exhausted and more than likely wanting more.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The Savannah Bananas are following up last year’s successful visit to Truist Park with another pair of sold out games this weekend!

What is Banana Ball?

“Banana Ball” is a version of baseball with several rules changes to make the game more exciting, such as:

  • A two-hour time limit. No new innings can start more than 120 minutes after the start of the game.
  • The games are won by points. The team that scores more runs in an inning gets one point, except in the final inning where each run is one point.
  • If the home run scores enough runs to “win” an inning, that inning ends automatically.
  • Stepping outside the batter’s box is an automatic strike.
  • Bunting results in an ejection.
  • Batters can try to steal first.
  • Walks have been replaced by “four-ball sprints.” The catcher starts tossing the ball to each defensive player, and runners can advance as far as they can before all infielders and outfielders have touched the ball.

How to get to Truist Park

If you’re driving, it’s highly recommended that you pre-purchase a parking pass, because waiting until gameday could result in quite the walk!

Parking passes cost anywhere from $28 at the E41 lot to $75 at the Red Deck. Prices are a bit more expensive because it will be for the home opener.
