Former Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely won the Republican nomination for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District after early results gave him nearly half the vote. Feely defeated former state lawmaker Joseph Chaplik and technology executive John Trobough, with the race called shortly after the first results dropped. On the Democratic side, former lawmaker Amish Shah led former TV journalist Marlene Galan Woods by about 5,000 votes Tuesday night. The contest is a rematch of the 2024 primary, when Shah won the nomination but lost the general election. The Democratic winner will face Republican incumbent David Schweikert in November.
