Suspect in Mercedes Vega killing sentenced in robbery case
The man who was convicted in a 2020 armed robbery case that prosecutors said led to the high-profile murder of a young East Valley woman learned his punishment Friday. A Maricopa County judge sentenced Cudjoe Young to 14 years in prison for the armed robbery and nine years for attempted robbery.
